“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”

Winston Churchill

We believe that businesses must play a broader role in their communities and contribute back to society.  Corporate social responsibility comes in many forms from large global corporations’ efforts having far-reaching results, that can impact major world issues from hunger and health to global warming, to small businesses providing volunteering or financial support for local initiatives.

Our CSR programme has been designed to engage in the areas where we believe we can have the strongest impact.  We actively encourage all our employees to get involved with activities such as charity, fundraising events and volunteering events which we believe provides a sense of purpose. We are proud to support the charities below.

Supporting a nationwide network of food banks who together provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK. Essenta run various food bank drives throughout the year, with a major campaign every Christmas.

KidsOut gives disadvantaged children positive experiences to support them becoming future members of our society and workforce. Each year more than 20,000 children flee domestic abuse to seek sanctuary in refuge. Typically leaving home with only the clothes on their back, these children have experienced physical, emotional, and even sexual abuse and arrive at refuge with nothing. In collaboration with Women’s Aid, partner charities and corporate supporters, KidsOut works to remind these children and thousands of others living with disadvantages what it is like to be children and just have fun.

Smart Works is a UK charity that provides high quality interview clothes and interview training to unemployed women in need. They harness the power of clothes and confidence to allow a woman to be her best at a crucial moment in her life, giving her the confidence, the self-belief and the practical tools required to succeed at interview and transform her life.

Suited & Booted helps vulnerable, unemployed and low-income men get into employment by providing suitable interview clothing as well as interview advice and mentoring.

Their aim is to provide young people with skills, ideas and access to support the young people’s personal statements, provide new routes into work or introduce them to different career options.

We are proud that Essenta employees have made 26 donations of blood since we began the programme in August 2019.

We have worked with Essenta on a number of pre-deal and portfolio hiring projects. We find their approach thorough and diligent. They are flexible in terms of proposition and definitely strive to understand projects far beyond a superficial and transactional level.
