Due to a change in senior leadership, one of our consumer clients embarked on a transformative project to enhance 360 sustainability practices. Having identified the significance of sustainability as well as talent capability’ deficit across numerous disciplines, Essenta was asked to create an instant solution in the form of a Sustainability Think Tank creation while the organisation identified the future OD. The requirement was for a 4 pax sustainability thought leadership team with diverse discipline expertise across the globe enduring a highly agile and progressive approach. The Think Tank was held accountable for being a sparring partner for the CEO, supplying information with regards to the latest global sustainability trends, offering a unique network as well as view in terms of talent, OD and competitive landscape.
We identified approx. 90 global sustainability ‘movers and shakers’ across numerous disciplines such as Supply Chain, Corporate Responsibility, Corporate Affairs and Strategy, globally from reputable, non-competing, consumer brands. Our focus was on brands that had a track record in sustainability transformations, as well as progressive thought leaders working for sustainability consultancies. We put them through a thorough assessment process including benchmarking them as a team ensuring highest levels of cognitive diversity and cultural fit with the client.
Having presented a balanced, diverse shortlist of candidates based in New York, Amsterdam, Stockholm, London, Singapore and India, our client selected four astute individuals with diverse backgrounds and strong overall group dynamics. The initial Sustainability Think Tank was offered a one year advisory contract with a view to extend if needed.
